Women Techmakers is an initiative launched by Google to provide visibility, community and resources for women in technology. Women Techmakers was kicked off 2012 in the United States and started in 2014 to go global. I am very excited to announce that I was accepted as a speaker and will participate in Women Techmakers Vienna Conference 2016.
Women Techmakers Vienna conference will take place on 12th of march 2016 at Microsoft Vienna. If you want to join, be quick – tickets will be sold out very quickly. You can register at: https://www.womentechmakers.at/
The topic of my session is “Effective communication in IT projects as a success factor – why women are the perfect match”. The abstract can be found here. I will speak on Saturday afternoon. You can check the interesting and manifold program here: Event Schedule
To give you a short overview, the main points of my talk will be the importance and impact of effective communication in project management, what effective communication means to me and why women should consider IT project management seriously as career path. I don’t consider myself as a feminist, but my personal experience is that women very often underestimate their talent for IT domain. My talk will outline the role of effective communication and which skills are needed to succeed in IT project management. I will share my experiences and show that sometimes it just takes the courage to take the first step and embrace new challenges. Hopefully I am able to inspire some people that one can be a great IT project manager without being an IT pro.
After the conference I will publish my talk on my blog and for sure more articles on IT project management and communication. So stay tuned!
